Fly Your Ashes to the Moon

It feels a bit like polluting, but if you've got $10k to burn, you can have your ashes flown to the moon after you die:

Invest like a Girl

Are women smarter than men when it comes to investing? Some interesting tips:

Vista crashes caused by NVIDIA drivers

Microsoft stats show that over 28% of Vista crashes and hangs were caused by NVIDIA video drivers:

Man vs. Gopher

Just like in Caddyshack:

http://chat01.asylum.com/2008/03/25/life-imitates-caddyshack-men-defeated-in-anti-gopher-campaign/
"The Rodenator dumps a mixture of propane and oxygen into gopher holes, then lights them up like a Fourth of July fireworks display, causing an underground shock wave, killing the gophers and collapsing their tunnels"

Solar Panels win, Trees lose

This guy who planted a row of redwood trees near the edge of his back yard must chop 2 of them down, since they are blocking the neighbor's solar panels. The ruling was based on a little-known law:

I know that redwood trees can be messy, perhaps for the neighbor. But the neighbor has 3 times as many solar panels as the average home, so I was kind of rooting for the trees.

New $5 Bill is out!

The new $5 bill is out in circulation. I saw one today.

It has a huge purple "5" in the bottom right corner, on the back. The sans-serif font makes it look almost fake.

Intel's new CPUs shipping soon

Intel's rollout of their quad-core 45nm chips has been slow, due to little competition from AMD.

Finally, the must-awaited Q9450 is starting to roll out. But individuals may still have to wait until late April.

Monkey Memory

Here's an interesting video:
Researchers learned that monkeys have excellent photographic memory -- much better (or faster) than humans.

Fighting the Common Cold

Interesting discovery:
"A nasal spray made from Atlantic Ocean seawater eased wintertime cold symptoms faster and slowed cough and cold symptoms from returning among children ages 6 to 10, researchers in Europe reported on Monday."
Sounds similar to Zicam (zinc oxide nasal spray). Although some people reported smelling loss with Zicam... maybe salt water is different?

Desktop Computers at Starbucks?

You know how people take their sleek laptops to Starbucks? Coffee and free Wi-Fi.

These guys decided to show up with desktops instead:

Antioxidants vs. Cancer

Everyone knows that antioxidants, like Vitamin E, help fight cancer... right? Or do they?

Not sure who to believe, but interesting:

Diebold Voting Machine Hacking

Some guys used pictures of keys on the Diebold website to construct matching keys which open Diebold voting machines. (Do they all use the same key?)

Crystal Sink at Home Depot

Not quite what I was expecting to see at Home Depot -- it definitely caught my eye.

You lift the faucet, and water runs down the chute.

Crystal Wall Sink: $699
Morgana Faucet: $367
Daily Pleasure it brings: priceless.
